Hull Keel Twin Test

Hi Dave,

I tested the Hull Keel Twin or as I like to think of it, (decaying wooden ironing board) on the weekend at a little place between the Pass and wategoes. I guess the surf was about 4ft and pretty much perfect.
The board looks like it should be really loose but it goes nothing like what you expect. I found that I could draw really long powerful lines and get quite vertical on it. It seemed to hold its rail very well, due to the fins being right at the very back of the board.

When i understood that the board is not a fast trimming board due to the V through the centre, I made the faster sections with ease by surfing it like a normal shortboard. Quite an experience riding it I can tell you.
Definitely worth riding as you can have a lot of fun with it.
Once the V is tweaked a bit to allow faster trimming...which i understand you have already done, will be a great little board to play around with.
Catch you in the water.

Not telling!

nice clean waves

Today i surfed belangan. 5 to 6 foot. Sometimes its best to choose beauty over big. The kwad pintail paddled like a dream and duckdived well. Lots of speed to make the fast sections.

Testing of the JLO

Hey Dave, thought I would fill everyone in on the performance of well...one of the weirder looking boards you have made me.

I have surfed it for around 2-3 weeks now in varying conditions. Everytime so far that I have surfed the board it makes me crack up with laughter. It is quite possibly one of the funnest boards i have surfed in a long time. At 8 foot long, it noserides as good as if not better then a 9 footer or a 10 footer. It handles and performs from the tail like a shortboard.

It is amazing how it mows down flat spots in the wave. So far it has handled everything from 1 foot to 6 foot.

Yes its not the most attractive board out there in the looks department but it performs so well that it does not matter in the slightest.

The last surf was at the Cape at Byron (a little secret spot with a couple of menacing locals who dont breathe air) and I had so much speed from the tail it was amazing. As well as some 10 second noserides.

Am really looking forward to taking it out in some serious waves to test it further. So I will keep you updated on its progress.

Hi Dave,

I bought a 9'4" blue Classic from you on Sunday and thought I'd drop a line re the ride – it's brilliant! Not have ridden for over 30 yrs, I was really unsure how I'd go. The classic is soooo easy for catching waves and, after about 3 or 4 waves, I was turning and sliding across the face of some magic little stuff at Broken Head. The board exceeded my expectations. I've still got such a long way to go but I'm really glad I've taken this first step – thankyou.

Dale Richards breezes thru another round at the Brothers Neilsen pro at Dbar today

This pic is lifted from Swellnet.com.au from earlier this week.

J-LO comes to DIVERSE

WE have a new odd surfboard to add to our range of demos! The J-LO model
this one is 8 foot long. And yes it is narrower in the middle! The board
catches waves like a 9'6" and turns like a 7' footer. Nose rides like a
classic and has 4 fins to turn tight and lessen drag. Probably on of the
funnest boards your going to ride in ordinary waves even in good surf...
Come and try it... Soon!
