The Mystery Surfer

He’s a quietly spoken fella from the apple isle. You’ve seen him charging 20 foot Shipsterns – airing off the step, landing in the flats, riding out on the foam ball. What you may not know is that he shreds small waves and can thread left hand tubes like nobody’s business. His name is James Holmer-Cross and he is the mystery surfer in the Rip Curl Padang Cup 2010. We found JH-C checking the waves at Uluwatu and hit him up for a lil interview… cheers to waves mag for the Story in our team rider!

g'day Dave & Crew,

a few fotos from recent mentawais boat trip. we scored amazing waves & weather for 2/3 of the trip! the boat (freedom III) was so sick, champion aussie skipper nailed it, putting us on uncrowded perfection. The food was gourmet and the crew added to the daily 'goodtimes'! The weather turned pretty rad for the last 3-4 days, making even a 76' boat feel pretty small! Highlights were surfing secret right-hander, green bush, a pig hunt and the costume party! Cheers for the insane Quad

Kuta Reef was pumping today

Hooray for swell all over the world. Today it was pumping at Kuta Reef. Heres some great pics By Jim from Baliwaves.com shot from the channel on a boat. the Surfer is our own team rider Sima Rae. Sima is riding his new Sprint He had Delivered this week. Many thanks to Krystal Cadbury & her partner for delivering the boards. Hope you guys are getting great waves on your Diverse boards wherever you are in the ocean today.

Feedback re: DK Quad stock in bali shops

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the tip, I took the chance and went to Bali yesterday. In
the Toke Shop, I found exactly the board I had ordered from you: 6'3
DK quadfin. Had my first session at Halfway this morning and the board
is just perfect!
Gotta go back to Jakarta tonight, but that one-day board shopping and
surfing trip to Bali was just worth it!

Alaias for Bali

This Is the Alaia I Made in Bali, I went to a wood factory on the side of
the road on the way to Caangu. Took it to a shed with a planer and a Sander
and walla... Wood for Riding. Some Tung oil from the Green tree eco store
on Sunset road sealed it up to make it waterproof! Enjoy Nature...

Mentawais pics

One of our regular customers Andrew just returned from a couple weeks on a boat with his friends in the Mentwais. He emailed us thru a couple pics. All the photos are on Diverse DQ and DK quads.. except for the one shot on a HP longboard.
Its great to see what fun you guys can have on the boards we make here in all kinds of conditions around the world.

This pic was one of the arvo sessions at G-land soo good, i will come in and see u soon. Hands up for the DK8-Kwad in Indo

Dave and I have been working on a few new concepts and testing them in the waves where I live in Bali, Indonesia. On Dave’s recent trip to Bali we worked closely on fine tuning a board design that would be suitable for a broad range of conditions. The development we have been working on from last year. The idea is to come up with a single board that is light and maneuverable in small beach break waves while maintaining integral strength and function for riding medium to large size waves over reef. We are getting close to perfecting this design and we tested a few boards at various locations on the island, trying to get a real feel for each board to discover both the positive and negative attributes. the DK8 is our result... This is a 6'2" roundtail DK at Belangan. We surfed this board in small 1-2 foot beachbreaks then right up to this day at Belangan... ALL ROUND BOARD...! 10/10.

hi dave,the surf been small down here ,on the weekend we had sawtell boardriders at main in the u 16st i finished 1st and the opens semis it was small and hard to get good waves,my board went fast for such small waves we leave for bali on friday for 3 weeks mic at padang tells me the swell comming up in bali on thursday so we will get there at the right time for waves carnt wait to surf uls,chunggu,and other spots i carnt name i send photos well ill talk to you soon alex
